Vijay Kumar, an 8-year-old boy hailing from the Chennai district studies class III in a Government school. He was suffering with severe cough and breathing difficulties, so the parents consulted him at various hospitals.
He was recently diagnosed with complete AV septal defect, obstructed supracardiac TAPVC, and severe AV valve regurgitation. So, he requires TAPVC repair + AV valve repair + PA banding procedure, which costs Rs. 5,00,000/- (including surgery, ICU & hospital stay, and medications).
Mr. Chellamuthu, the child’s father, works as a Nadi astrologer, which is an unstable job, and earns Rs. 200/- and takes care of his family. Unfortunately, this is not the first time his family has faced such a tragic situation. He has already lost one child to a cardiac disease. Now, he is fighting desperately to save his son and ensure he has a chance to live a healthy life.
In addition to his son’s condition, he has the responsibility of raising three young daughters. The youngest of them is also battling a cardiac issue, which adds further strain to his already limited resources. With the weight of raising his children and managing daily expenses, it is impossible for him to afford the high costs of Vijay Kumar’s surgery.
