Aarthi is a bright and determined 15-year-old girl from Trichy district of Tamil Nadu, who is currently studying class X in a Government School in Chennai. She eagerly prepares for her public exams and she dreams of becoming a teacher one day and is dedicated to her studies, hoping to create a better future for herself. However, her aspirations are at risk due to a serious health issue that has recently come to light.
Aarthi was diagnosed with a heart defect during a cardiac screening camp organized by the MIOT team. Following this, she was consulted at MIOT Hospitals, where the medical team confirmed that she suffers from Large OS ASD (Atrial Septal Defect), and a condition that requires ASD closure procedure to prevent further complications.
The estimated cost of the procedure is Rs. 2,60,000/- (including surgery, ICU & hospital stay, and medications). Aarthi’s family faces significant financial challenges. Her father, Mr Duraisamy, works as a farmer for daily wage in their native, and earns a meager income that barely meets the basic needs of the family.
To support the household and cover additional expenses, her mother, Ms. Rajapriya, works as a maid servant in Chennai. Despite their tireless efforts, their combined income is insufficient to cover the cost of Aarthi’s surgery, which remains out of their reach.
The financial burden on the family is overwhelming, and without external help, Aarthi’s life-saving surgery may not happen in time. Your support can be the key to securing Aarthi’s surgery, giving her the opportunity to live a healthy life, continue her studies, and work toward her dream of becoming a teacher. Any contribution, no matter the size, can make a significant difference in Aarthi’s life and future.
