Mr. Sivarajan and Ms. Petchiammal from Cuddalore district were blessed with a baby girl, Kanishka Sri, after 18 years of marriage. She is now 2 years and 10 months old and is the joy of their lives.
When Kanishka was just 3 months old, she fell ill and was taken to several hospitals. After many checkups, she was diagnosed with a heart condition called ASD and has been under regular treatment since then.
Recently, during a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals, doctors found that she has multiple ASDs with a left-to-right shunt. They have advised surgical closure of the ASDs to correct the condition, and the estimated cost of the surgery is Rs 2,60,000.
Mr. Sivarajan works as a truck driver and earns a monthly income of Rs 15,000. With this limited income and existing loan repayments, the family is unable to bear the cost of the surgery.
