At just 11 years old, Thennarasu faces a battle no child should have to endure. Diagnosed with Rheumatic Heart Disease and Severe Mitral Regurgitation, his heart valves have been gravely damaged by rheumatic fever. But there is hope—he is scheduled for a crucial mitral valve repair surgery at MIOT Hospital, which could give him the chance at a healthier, brighter future.
The total cost of the surgery, including ICU care, hospital stay, post-operative investigations, and medications, is Rs. 3,25,000/-. However, Thennarasu’s parents, Mr. Kudiarasu and Ms. Rajapriya, work as daily wage laborers, earning Rs. 500 and Rs. 300 per day, respectively.
Despite their relentless efforts, their modest income barely covers their daily needs, making it impossible for them to afford the life-saving treatment their son desperately needs.
