Saravanan is a bright 13-year-old boy from the Cuddalore district. He studies in Class 10 at a Government school and is the eldest child in his family. Despite facing hardships from a young age, Saravanan is a dedicated student and a pillar of support for his family.
Until recently, Saravanan appeared to be a healthy child with no known health issues. However, during a routine medical check-up conducted at his school, doctors noticed something unusual and referred him to a free cardiac screening camp organized by MIOT Hospitals at the Government Hospital in Vadalur. There, further tests revealed a serious heart condition.
He was diagnosed with Large Sinus Venosus Atrial Septal Defect ASD and PAPVD of RUPV to RA (a complex congenital heart defect that requires surgical intervention). So the medical team has recommended elective surgery – Sinus Venosus ASD repair to correct the defect. The cost of this life-saving procedure is Rs. 2,80,000/-.
Saravanan’s father, Mr Purushothaman, works in their village setting up microphones and sound systems for local events and functions. His work is irregular, and he earns just around 1,500 rupees per event, which is barely enough to support daily expenses for his family.
Tragedy struck the family last year when Saravanan’s mother, Ms Sathya Rani, passed away from a cardiac arrest. Since then, the burden of care and responsibility has fallen entirely on the shoulders of his grieving father and young Saravanan.
Now, with Saravanan’s health rapidly deteriorating, the family is devastated and desperate for help.Your support can give Saravanan a second chance at life he deserves – full of life, learning, and hope.
