Thashvik was born in July 2019. He was three months old when he went for his first immunization cycle. The next day, the baby developed a high fever. When they went to see the doctor, they were told he had a congenital heart problem. The parents had noticed he had a rapid heartbeat at birth, but they thought it would settle down.In the year 2021, he was referred to MIOT Hospitals, where the medical team performed the Damus Kay Stansel Procedure + Atrial Septectomy.
Now he had been advised to undergo elective surgery – Fontan completion. The estimated cost of the surgery is Rs. 4,50,000/- (including surgery, ICU & hospital stay, post-op investigations and medications).
Thashvik’s father, Muruganandam, is a carpenter by profession, residing with his family at Lalgudi, near Trichy. He earns Rs. 700 a day, which is an unstable job, but his limited income is not enough to cover the high medical expenses associated with the surgery.
