7th Birthday Celebration of CHIME

7th Birthday Celebration of CHIME

29 September 2014

CHIME turned 7 on World Heart Day – happy faces on a wonderful day.

Over 700 children have been aided by CHIME. Not to forget the many other needy patients, especially in the emergency unit of MIOT Hospitals, who were supported when treatment had to go ahead and they were never turned away due to lack of funds.

The CHIME office did not wear its usual hospital look on this day, as children were full of eagerness, gaiety and laughter. The place was filled with happiness. They gathered together and began the day by expressing their feelings through art, drawing as they waited for friends of CHIME—our supporters, without whom CHIME could not have come this far. And they did drop in to say hello.

It was indeed party time. Our Chairman, doctors, and staff of the Paediatric Cardio Unit and CHIME were all there to welcome them and join the parents and children in making it a memorable and beautiful day.

Expressions from Young Hearts

Vaugn Pinto wrote a verse for CHIME, beautifully expressing his feelings:

You’ve been there for me,
When I needed you most,
I try to recall what happened when I was in the theatre.
You appeared and helped me with a golden coast,
Thank you CHIME,
For now I know I have made a friend for life.

Sivaranjan also expressed his gratitude through his drawing. Seven years after a critical surgery, he is now in college pursuing his B.Com.

Little Jyoti Nila from the gypsy community was thrilled to freely use her sketch pens, paper and pencils.

So did all the other children – Gavaskar, Padayappa, Rosemary, Viswa Prakash Nityashree, Akshiyni, Dinesh and many others.
