Master Dharshan, a 3-year-old boy from Kannagi Nagar, Chennai, was born with a Congenital Heart Disease. Since his birth, his family has visited multiple hospitals in search of the treatment he urgently needs.
Recently, Dharshan was referred to a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals. After evaluation, doctors diagnosed him with a moderate-sized perimembranous VSD with inlet extension, Grade II MR (a condition where the heart valve leaks blood backward). The medical team has recommended Mitral valve repair surgery, estimated to cost ₹3,00,000.
His father, Mr. Karthik, works as an operator in an oil refinery and earns a modest monthly income of ₹15,000. With this limited income and existing financial burdens, including ongoing loan repayments, the family is unable to bear the cost of the life-saving surgery.
Tragically, the family had previously lost a girl child just four days after birth after undergoing esophageal surgery. Now, Dharshan is their only child, and they are fighting to save his life.
