Maghizhini

02 Oct 2025 Patient photo Maghizhini, a 2-year-9-month-old girl from Chennai, has been fighting for her life since she was just a month old. She was born with Down Syndrome and congenital heart disease. At age 2, she was diagnosed with a duodenal membrane, which blocks the passage of food from the stomach into the intestines, causing severe vomiting and poor weight gain. She underwent surgery for this condition at a government hospital.

She has been receiving regular occupational therapy, and during a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals, doctors found that her heart condition had worsened. She was diagnosed with complete AVSD, Tetralogy of Fallot and pericardial effusion. So the medical team has recommended Elecive – AVSD repair and relief of RVOTO procedure to save her life.

The total cost of the surgery is ₹4,25,000, a sum beyond her family’s means.

Her father, Mr. Prathap, left his job to care for her full-time, while her mother, Ms. Selvi, works as a nurse to support the family and manage ongoing medical expenses. Despite their best efforts, they cannot afford the surgery on their own.

Your generous contribution can give Maghizhini a chance at a healthy, happy future. Please consider donating and sharing her story.
