Priyadharshini, a bright 16-year-6-month-old girl from Thiruvallur District, is currently pursuing Class XII in a Government Higher Secondary School. She has always been an active and healthy student, with no prior symptoms of heart disease, and dreams of completing her education and building a better future for herself and her family.
During a recent routine health check-up conducted at her school, doctors noticed signs suggestive of a heart condition. She was immediately referred to a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at Thiruvallur Government Hospital. Further evaluation at MIOT Hospitals, Chennai, revealed a serious congenital heart defect – Hemianomalous drainage of the right-sided pulmonary veins into the right atrium.
Her treating doctors have advised corrective heart surgery, specifically re-routing of the right-sided pulmonary veins to the left atrium, to prevent long-term complications and to allow her to lead a normal, healthy life. The estimated cost of the surgery is ₹2,80,000, which includes hospital care and treatment expenses.
Priyadharshini’s father, Mr. Kumar, is a daily-wage construction labourer, earning approximately ₹900 per day when work is available. Due to the unstable nature of his employment, he remains unemployed for long periods, making it extremely difficult for the family to meet even their basic needs. The cost of this life-saving surgery is far beyond their socio-economic capacity.
Priyadharshini stands at a crucial stage in her life on the threshold of adulthood and education. With timely medical intervention, she can return to her studies and pursue her dreams without the burden of illness.
We humbly appeal to extend financial support and help give Priyadharshini the healthy and hopeful future she deserves.
Your support today can change a young girl’s life forever.
