Ms. Parameshwari and Mr. Periyasamy hail from Kallakurichi, Villupuram District. They have an 8-year-old daughter, Ishwarya, who was born in 2018 with a congenital heart condition.
During Ms. Parameshwari’s eighth month of pregnancy, Ishwarya was diagnosed with a serious heart defect during an anomaly scan. She was subsequently delivered at a Government Hospital, where she remained hospitalized for 16 days. One of her treating doctors later referred her to MIOT for further evaluation and treatment.
Ishwarya was diagnosed with Dextrocardia, DORV, Pulmonary Atresia, and non-confluent branch pulmonary arteries. She has undergone multiple complex cardiac procedures over the years, including: Central shunt surgery in 2018, Glenn procedure in 2019 and Evacuation of a clot from the RPA, enlargement of the hilar RPA using vein-patch plasty, and a central shunt to the RPA in 2021 Ishwarya recently visited the hospital for a medical review. After evaluating her condition, her treating doctor advised her to undergo Fontan completion with fenestration, a high-risk and critical cardiac surgery required as the next stage of her treatment.
The estimated cost of the procedure is ₹4,75,000/-. Mr. Periyasamy works as a mason and earns a meagre daily wage to support his family. Given their limited financial resources, arranging the funds required for Ishwarya’s surgery has become an enormous challenge for the family.
We therefore humbly appeal to extend financial support towards Ishwarya’s surgery. Your contribution can help her undergo this critical procedure and give her an opportunity to lead a healthier and happier life.
