Sastivel is a 4-month-old baby from Gummipoondi, Thiruvallur district. When he was 2 months old, he was admitted to Government Stanley Hospital due to breathing problems. During this admission, he was diagnosed with a congenital heart disease. Before this, the child did not have any symptoms.
He was later referred to a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospital. After detailed evaluation at MIOT Hospital, doctors diagnosed him with a Large Perimembranous VSD and a moderate indirect Gerbode defect. He was advised to continue medications and come for regular follow-ups.
Unfortunately, within one month, the child had to be admitted to the hospital twice due to repeated respiratory infections and poor weight gain. Because of this, the medical team has now advised early heart surgery, which includes VSD closure and tricuspid valve repair.
The total cost of the surgery is Rs. 3,25,000.
The child’s father, Mr. Seetharaman, is a bike mechanic earning around Rs. 10,000–15,000 per month, and his income is not stable. With this limited income, he struggles to manage daily household expenses and shop rent. He is unable to arrange the required amount for his son’s treatment.
Therefore, we humbly request financial support to help save this little boy’s life and give him a chance to live a healthy future.
