Varshini. R, a 1-year-and-7-month-old girl from Tiruvannamalai district, has been diagnosed with multiple life-threatening health conditions at a very young age. At just 10 months old, she suffered from bronchopneumonia and was later diagnosed with Severe coarctation of the aorta, PAPVC of left-sided pulmonary veins to innominate vein, and mild obstruction to the right lower pulmonary vein.Following an evaluation by her treating doctor, Varshini was referred to MIOT Hospitals for further treatment. The medical team has planned for elective surgery – coarctation repair + re-routing of left-sided pulmonary veins to LA + inspection of the right lower pulmonary vein for correction of the same.
The cost of the procedure is Rs. 3,50,000/-. Varshini’s father, Mr. Rajesh, works as a welder and earns a modest monthly income of ₹7,000. As the family’s sole breadwinner, he is unable to afford the cost of this critical surgery. Tragically, Varshini is their second child, after the heartbreaking loss of their first.
