Mahadivyadarshini, a brave 6-year-old girl from Thiruvallur district, faced a challenging medical condition from a very young age. She was referred to MIOT Hospitals by a pediatrician from a private clinic.
She was diagnosed with pulmonary atresia, ventricular septal defect, MAPCAs, and small branch PAs; her heart condition posed a significant risk to her health and development. So, the medical team planned for an urgent medical intervention, which included unifocalization of the MAPCAs and a complete intracardiac repair with an RV-PA tissue valve
conduit.
The treatment cost for the procedure was Rs. 550,000/-, covering not only the surgery but also the ICU care, hospital stay, post-operative investigations, and medications.
However, the journey was not easy. Mahadivyadarshini’s father left the family due to personal issues, leaving her mother, Ms. Revathi, to shoulder the financial and emotional burden. Despite her best efforts and the support of her parents, Ms. Revathi found it difficult to arrange the required funds for her daughter’s surgery.
In this time of hardship, hope came in the form of kind-hearted donors; with their generous support, the funds were raised, and on 03.02.2025, Mahadivyadarshini successfully underwent the complex surgery. She is currently recovering under medication and is closely monitored for any complications.
