Baby Mohammed Murshid is a 1 Year 6 Months old child from Chennai who is courageously battling a serious congenital heart defect. His father, Mr. Arif Mohammed, works as a daily-wage laborer earning approximately ₹800 per day, but employment is not available consistently and depends entirely on the availability of work. His mother, Mrs. Saira Banu, is a homemaker who cares for their child full-time. With such an unstable and limited income, the family struggles to meet even their basic daily needs, and the burden of a major heart surgery has placed them in deep distress.
During the prenatal scans, no abnormality was detected, and the parents were unaware of any medical concerns. However, after delivery at Egmore Government Children’s Hospital, doctors identified signs of a possible heart condition during routine postnatal evaluation. Further medical assessments later confirmed that Baby Murshid was born with a complex congenital heart defect. During a pediatric cardiology camp conducted by MIOT Hospital at the Tiruvallur Government Hospital, he was diagnosed with pulmonary atresia, VSD, and MAPCAs. Doctors have strongly advised that he undergo unifocalization of the left and right-sided MAPCAs along with an Aorto-pulmonary shunt procedure for correction of the same.
The estimated cost of this life-saving surgery, including the procedure, ICU stay, hospitalization, and medications, is ₹3,00,000/-. For a family dependent on irregular daily wages, arranging such an amount is beyond their capacity. Without timely surgical intervention, his condition may worsen and put his life at serious risk. This little child deserves a chance to grow up healthy and experience a normal childhood. We earnestly appeal for your generous support to help raise the required funds for Baby Mohammed Murshid’s surgery and give him the opportunity to live a healthy and hopeful life.
