Hemashree is a 2-year-2-month-old child from Chennai district who has been facing serious health challenges since birth. At just 2 days old, she suffered a hypocalcemic seizure and required intensive care treatment. Later, she was diagnosed with Tetralogy of Fallot, a complex congenital heart condition.
At 2 months of age, Hemashree experienced another hypocalcemic episode and was treated at a government hospital, where she was diagnosed with DiGeorge syndrome. Since then, she has been under regular medical care.
During a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals, further evaluation confirmed her condition as Tetralogy of Fallot with right aortic arch and isolation of the left subclavian artery with an atretic ductus. Doctors have strongly advised an elective surgery involving intracardiac repair and reimplantation of the left subclavian artery.
The cost of this life-saving surgery is ₹3,65,000 — an amount far beyond the family’s financial capacity.
Hemashree’s father, Mr. Manikandan, works as an electrician with an unstable income. Despite their best efforts, the family is unable to arrange the funds needed for the surgery while also managing ongoing medical expenses. So we supported sum of Rs. 50,000/-
Hemashree underwent surgery on 24/02/2026 and was discharged on 02/03/2026. She is now recovering well and has been advised to continue medications and attend regular follow-ups.
