Miracline Riana – A Pediatric Heart Success Story
Three-month-old Miracline Riana from Adambakkam, Chennai, has overcome a critical health challenge with timely medical intervention and the support of compassionate donors.
Soon after her birth in a private hospital, Miracline developed severe breathing difficulties and bluish discoloration of her body. She was immediately referred to a Government hospital, where doctors diagnosed her with Down syndrome and congenital heart disease.
Determined to provide the best possible care for their little daughter, her parents consulted specialists at another private hospital. After detailed medical evaluations, Miracline was diagnosed with a Complete Balanced Atrioventricular Septal Defect (AVSD), a serious congenital heart condition requiring early surgical correction.
The family then approached MIOT Hospitals, where the paediatric cardiac team recommended early AVSD repair surgery to address her condition and improve her chances of a healthier future. The estimated treatment cost was ₹4,50,000, including surgery, ICU care, hospital stay, investigations, medicines, and other medical expenses.
Miracline’s father, Mr. Ravichandran, works as an executive in a private company and earns approximately ₹15,000 per month. Her mother, Ms. Monisha, who was also employed at the same company, had to leave her job to care for their baby. With the family now dependent on a single modest income, arranging the cost of the treatment became a major financial challenge.
With the compassionate support of philanthropists, CHIME was able to mobilise partial funds towards Miracline’s treatment, helping the family move forward with the much-needed medical care.
On 15 August 2026, Miracline successfully underwent her heart surgery at MIOT Hospitals. She later underwent pacemaker implantation on 02 September 2026. Following post-operative care and close medical monitoring, she was discharged from the hospital on 02 September 2026.
She has been advised to continue her prescribed medications and return for a medical review after one month.
For Miracline’s parents, her recovery brings renewed hope. For their little daughter, it marks the beginning of a new chapter filled with possibilities.
