Rathnapoovazhagi G is a 12 year old girl from Chennai district. She was diagnosed with congenital heart disease when she was just 6 months old. Since then, she has been receiving regular treatment at a Government hospital, following her doctor’s advice and continuing her medications.
When she was 6 years old, she was referred to a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals, where her condition was further reviewed. During her recent visit in August 2025, doctors found that she has a Double Chambered Right Ventricle and a small hole in her heart (perimembranous VSD). She now needs to undergo surgery for DCRV repair and VSD closure to correct her heart condition.
The estimated cost of this life-saving procedure is Rs 3,65,000. Her father, Mr. Ganeshan, works as an ironing man in garments and earns only Rs 3,500 a week. With his limited income, he struggles to support his family and continue Rathna’s education, and the cost of her treatment is far beyond his means.
