Deekshika G, a 3-year-7-month-old child from Krishnagiri District, has been suffering from a serious congenital heart disease since birth. Her condition was initially detected during an antenatal scan, and she was born at the Government Hospital, Krishnagiri.
Soon after birth, her parents sought medical care at a Government Hospital in Chennai, where surgery was advised. However, due to extreme financial hardship and lack of awareness, the family could not pursue the recommended treatment.
Deekshika’s father, Mr. Guna, is an illiterate daily wage labourer who works as a construction helper and earns approximately Rs. 500 per day. He is the sole breadwinner of the family and struggles to meet even their basic needs. The family has no savings or resources to afford the specialized cardiac surgery required for their daughter.
During a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at Government Hospital, Krishnagiri, Deekshika was identified and referred for further evaluation. Subsequent investigations at MIOT Hospitals revealed that she is suffering from a Large Perimembranous Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) with Severe Pulmonary Hypertension, a life-threatening condition that requires urgent surgical correction.
The treating doctors have advised early VSD closure surgery to prevent irreversible damage to her heart and lungs and to enable her to lead a normal, healthy life. The estimated cost of treatment is Rs. 2,60,000/- (Rupees Two Lakhs Sixty Thousand Only), which includes the cost of surgery, ICU care, hospital stay, post-operative investigations, and medications.
Given the family’s severe financial constraints, arranging such a large amount is beyond their means. Your contribution, regardless of the amount, will bring hope to this young child and help provide her with the opportunity to live a healthy and fulfilling life.
We humbly request your compassionate support and prayers for Deekshika’s recovery.
