Keerthika K, a 6-year-old child from Tiruvannamalai. She is the third child of a financially struggling family and is currently studying in Class II at a Government School.
During a routine school health screening, Keerthika was found to have poor weight gain and was subsequently referred to a free cardiac screening camp conducted by MIOT Hospitals at the Government Hospital, Tiruvannamalai. Following detailed evaluation at MIOT Hospitals, she was diagnosed with a Moderate-Sized Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA), a congenital heart defect that requires timely intervention.
The treating doctors have advised elective PDA device closure, a procedure necessary to correct the defect and prevent future complications. The estimated cost of the treatment, including hospitalization and medications, is Rs. 1,40,000/- (Rupees One Lakh Forty Thousand Only).
Keerthika’s father, Mr. Kumar, works as a fruit vendor and earns approximately Rs. 8,000/- per month, an irregular and insufficient income. As the sole breadwinner, he struggles to support his wife and three children while meeting basic household expenses. The family has exhausted all available resources and is unable to arrange the funds required for their daughter’s treatment.
Keerthika is a bright and cheerful child with dreams of a healthy future. Timely medical intervention can enable her to lead a normal life and continue her education without the burden of a heart condition. However, her family’s financial circumstances stand in the way of this life-changing treatment.
We therefore humbly appeal to your generosity and request your financial assistance towards Keerthika’s cardiac procedure. Your contribution, regardless of the amount, will bring hope to this young child and help save her life.
