The Story of a Fragile Beginning and a Mother’s Unshaken Hope

16 Apr 2026

Watch Akshyny’s journey where hope, courage and care changed everything

When Akshyny was born, her mother held her close with a heart full of hope. A premature birth came with countless fears and unanswered questions, but one look at her tiny face gave her strength, the kind that made her believe her child would fight through it all. Every breath, every small milestone felt like a victory.
But within a year, that fragile hope began to slip away.In 2009, Akshyny started falling sick again and again. What seemed like an ordinary illness soon unfolded into something far more serious, a problem with her heart.

When Reassurance Turned to Uncertainty

At first, the doctors reassured her mother, telling her that, with time, everything would be alright, that her child would slowly grow out of it. Clinging to those words, she chose hope over fear, holding on to the belief that the worst was behind them. For a while, that hope felt real. But life had other plans. What was once expected to heal quietly began to worsen slowly and silently, far beyond what anyone had prepared her for.

As Fear Set In, A Fight for Life Began

As Akshyny’s health deteriorated, every breath became a battle. The vibrant world of a child was slowly fading, and for her mother, the silence of the hospital room felt overwhelming. Thencame the words she feared most doctors advised immediate surgery.

For a single mother, that moment was crushing. The fear of losing her child was overwhelming, but so was the reality that she could not afford the treatment. In that space between fear and helplessness, hope began to slip beyond reach.

The New Horizon: Akshyny’s Step Toward Recovery

Working at MIOT, she had known about CHIME – Childrens Heart Internationale MIOT but never imagined that one day, it would become the lifeline for her own child.
Recognising the urgency of her condition, CHIME, in association with the MIOT Centre for Children’s Cardiac Care acted swiftly, taking complete charge of her care and guiding the family through a time filled with uncertainty and fear. Every step was handled with empathy and precision, ensuring that no time was lost.
With seamless coordination and expert medical support, Akshyny was prepared for the procedure and successfully underwent the surgical closure she so desperately needed.
In a moment that once felt overwhelming and uncertain, CHIME transformed fear into hope giving her a chance at a healthier future.
After the procedure, overcome with emotion, she broke down. The Chairman, seeing her tears, stood beside her not just with reassurance, but with strength urging her to stay strong, to keep fighting, for her child. In that moment, she received more than care and found the courage to hold on.

A Life Sustained by Care and Compassion

The surgery marked a turning point in Akshyny’s life. Over the past 15 years, with continuous care and support from CHIME and the medical team, she has grown stronger, a life shaped not by her condition, but by the care that sustained her through it. Today, her mother looks back, not with fear, but with gratitude.
“CHIME and the Chairman have given my child and me the best treatment for the past 15 years. I am deeply thankful for all their support.”
Akshyny’s story is one of resilience, compassion, and unwavering support a reminder that when care goes beyond medicine, it can change the course of a life forever.
