Five-and-a-half-month-old Rishav Kumar is bravely fighting a serious congenital heart condition. Today, he needs your kindness and support to receive the life-saving surgery that could give him a chance at a healthier future.
Mr. Chandan Kumar and Ms. Manitha Kumari, Rishav’s parents, are migrant workers from Bihar who live in Kolkata, struggling to make ends meet. Rishav is their third child. Shortly after his birth, he developed jaundice, and at around one month of age, he suffered from severe fever and diarrhoea. His parents rushed him to a private hospital, where they received the devastating news that their little boy had Down syndrome and congenital heart disease.
Unable to afford the specialised treatment their baby desperately needed, the family felt helpless. Through the guidance of a well-wisher, they learned about MIOT Hospitals and brought Rishav for further evaluation and treatment.
After a thorough medical assessment, Rishav was diagnosed with a large VSD shunt and severe pulmonary hypertension. The medical team has recommended VSD closure and PFO closure surgery to address his heart condition.
The estimated cost of the surgery is ₹4,00,000 (Four Lakh Rupees).
Rishav’s father, Mr. Chandan Kumar, works as a carpenter and earns approximately ₹700 per day when work is available. His income is irregular and barely sufficient to meet the family’s daily needs. Arranging such a large amount for his son’s treatment is beyond the family’s financial capacity.
For these parents, their child’s life is priceless, but the cost of treatment stands as a barrier they cannot overcome alone.
We humbly appeal to you to support little Rishav’s life-saving surgery.
Your generosity can help turn their fear into hope and give Rishav a fighting chance at a healthier future.
