Amos is a 8-year-old boy from Tiruvallur district, currently studying in Class IV at a government school. He was born with a congenital heart disease, and just 20 days after his birth, his condition worsened, requiring urgent medical attention at a private hospital. There, he was stabilized and eventually discharged, but his journey with heart complications continued.
In 2023, during a cardiac screening camp conducted by the MIOT medical team at the Government Hospital in Tiruvallur district, Amos was once again diagnosed with a serious heart condition. After a detailed consultation, doctors identified that he was suffering from severe LVOT obstruction caused by a sub-aortic membrane, mild AR, LVH, and normal LV function.
The medical team has recommended Elective surgery for relief of LVOT obstruction, sub aortic membrane resection + Aortic valve repair. This surgery is crucial to prevent further complications and to ensure that Amos can live a healthy and active life like any other child his age.
The estimated cost of the surgery was ₹3,00,000 an amount far beyond the reach of Amos’s family. His father, Mr. Munikrishnan, is a daily wage laborer who struggles to provide for his three children while managing the household’s basic needs. With limited resources and no steady financial support, it was impossible for him to arrange such a large sum for Amos’s treatment.
So realising Amos’s health condition we supported his medical expenses. On 12/06/2025 Amos underwent a procedure successfully and was discharged from the hospital. Now Amos is recovering and continuing his regular medication and will have his medical review after 2 months.
